1 Peter

Peter was one of the first men to follow Jesus. He became a leader in the early church. Many people in Peter’s day had no love for the early Christians. They were not kind to them. So, the people who followed Jesus suffered. Some had to leave their homes because people treated them so badly. Peter wrote this letter to comfort and encourage the people who were suffering. He told them that God is still in control. The troubles they suffered could make their faith even stronger.
